Hi Guys!

I had big dreams for this post.   I was going to write the perfect SEO 25 Ways to Wear Peeptoe Booties.  I had all of the outfits ready; I had the perfect infographic to insert them into so that I could post into Pintrest; but then I started getting super stressed out and I decided F it.

Writing and preparing a perfect SEO post takes FOREVER.  Usually the reason I don’t post – so much work involved!  Actually, the top 3 reasons I don’t post are: 1) I really don’t like to take pictures, 2) SEO takes a lot of thought and work, 3) writing content would be my thing if this was my full time job (again it takes forever), respectively.

Why am I doing this, then?  I LOVE styling.  I literally talk to random people at the mall about their outfits and help others in the dressing room.  And if you know me at all, you know I HATE social interactions.  I also LOVE helping other bloggers launch their sites and helping them grow.  Yep, SEO.  What I loathe doing for myself, I love doing for others.

I started my second blog to have fun and have somewhere for my lovely styling clients and friends to get some outfit inspo.  Again, I am getting caught up in the “perfectionism” of it all.  This is why I rarely post!  I took these pics after a fun trip to Costco about 4 weeks ago – yes FOUR WEEKS AGO (and yes, Costco trips for Warren and I are super fun!)

So tonight, as I think about my much unexpected and not totally welcomed future plans that I have had to face in the last few months, I thought, F this S.  I’m just going to post.  No SEO (which by the way I read and take lots of classes on because I am obsessed with growth – I’m a total weirdo).  No thinking about “content”.  Like Luii said, “just have fun.”

It is really hard to stay focused on fun when you want your favorite thing to become something you can do all day every day (ahem, quit job and style and help bloggers launch and grow their blogs).  So in the meantime, I am going to post with not content – unless I’m feeling especially talkative like tonight…really, it is just plain venting.  Stop thinking about my sub-par writing skills.  And what else….(see, there is the start of a sentence with an AND which actually nowadays has become OK but back in yesteryear when I was in skoo, it was NOT OK)…oh yeah, minimal SEO.

To those of you interested – I did the bare minimum here: semi search-friendly descriptive title, alt tags on photos and possibly some tags.  But I also went a little nuts with my title adding random things that have nothing to do with this post…as well as wrote a post that has nothing to do with the outfit (laughing hysterically emoji), which will turn into Google not really ranking me too high.  Fuck Google!!! (hysterically laughing again).

Anyway, I had a fantastic Thanksgiving and LOVE the Christmas season, which is keeping me in high spirits despite all else.

How do you blogger ladies feel about this SEO shit?

Costco is my fave because my boyfriend pretty much lets me get whatever I want (he loves it there LOL). I always say that I wish they had a Nordstrom and JCrew section at Costco 🙂

The SEO can be annoying and somewhat stifling. Especially trying to type the name of the title somewhere in my post and on a photo. However it’s a necessary evil and makes searches more authentic than the earlier days of the web when people titled things just to capture attention and then not deliver. A few bad apples ruined it for us all.

    P.S. sweet peep toes! 😉

      Thanks Melody!!
The repetitiveness of that kills me, but there is so much more to do for creating growth that I just cannot keep up with on a “posting” basis, but will be giving out tips and writing posts about it later next year…as soon as I can free up my calendar a little more to write meaningful, useful posts 🙂 I have a total passion/obsession for growth marketing!!

You look adorable. That is the first thing I want to say. Second, I am so cranky with SEO. You know I dont get it…and I wish I had an extra 24 hours per day to research/study/understand it all. …

Me too! It is hard working full time and keeping up with SEO. We will connect soon and revisit some of the things we spoke about a year ago 🙂
